Dzmitry Yurkoits was sentenced by the Navahrudak District Court under Art. 391 of the Criminal Code (insulting a judge) to one and a half years of restricted freedom in an open correctional facility.

Yurkoits was found guilty of insulting Judge Filatau of the Lida District Court known for convicting a large number of people in politically motivated trials.

On March 19, 2021, the convict was sent to serve his sentence in penitentiary No. 45. The prisoner was registered as prone to extremism. Dzmitry has two minor children.

Human rights activists found out that Dzmitry Yurkoits got a disability of the third group. In this regard, on May 25, 2022, the court of Kamianiec district court replaced freedom restriction in an open-type penitentiary with a milder punishment, namely home confinement. It is known that the trial was postponed three times.
