Daniil Kastsiukevich is a student of the History Faculty of the Belarusian State University. He was arrested in Minsk for posting comments on the Internet concerning the deaths of the IT worker Andrei Zeltser and the KGB agent Dzmitry Fedasiuk.
According to his former cellmate, Daniil Kastsiukevich was arrested for comments "It's all lies" and "It's fake" concerning the Zeltser case. During the 2020 protests, he bandaged a guy whose leg was injured. He is interested in nature.
Daniil Kastsiukevich was charged under Part 1 of Art. 342 ('Organization and preparation of actions grossly disrupting public order, or active participation in them'), and Art. 130 ('Inciting social enmity') of the Criminal Code.
In late December 2021, Kastsiukevich was transferred from prison #8 in Žodzina (Minsk region) to remand prison #1 in Minsk. In late January 2023, he was transferred to remand prison #7 in Brest.
On February 16, 2023, at a closed court session, the Brest Regional Court issued the aggregate verdict in the criminal case of the police prisoner. Judge Mikalai Sianko sentenced Daniil Kastsiukevich to three years of imprisonment in a general-security penal colony.
In mid-March 2023, Kastsiukevich was transferred to remand prison #6 in Baranavičy, Brest region.
