Barys Hrynkevich was convicted by the Minsk City Court under Part 1 of Article 130 of the Criminal Code (inciting racial, national, religious or other social hatred), Article 369 of the Criminal Code (insulting a government official), Part 3 of Article 361-1 of the Criminal Code (creation of an extremist formation, or participation in it), Part 1 of Article 342 of the Criminal Code (organization and preparation of actions that grossly violate public order, or active participation in them), and Part 1 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code (insulting Lukashenka). On May 7-16, 2024 the case was considered by Judge Sviatlana Makarevich. She sentenced Barys to imprisonment.
In August 2024 he was put on the "terrorist list" by the KGB.
On August 9, 2024, he was added to the list of Belarusian citizens, foreign citizens and stateless persons involved in extremist activities.
