Andżelika Borys is the chairwoman of the Union of Poles in Belarus.
Andżelika Borys was detained on March 23, and on March 24, a judge of the Lieninski District Court of Hrodna sentenced her to 15 days of administrative detention for violating the procedure of organizing and holding mass events, namely for arranging the annual festival of arts and crafts Hrodna Kaziuki 2021.
Later, it was reported that Borys was a suspect in a criminal case under Part 3 of Article 130 of the Criminal Code for "incitement to hatred" and "rehabilitation of Nazism".
On March 25, 2022, it became known that Andżelika Borys had her measure of restraint changed. Instead of the remand, she was placed under home confinement. It is known that she did not write a petition for clemency.
In early April 2023, Andżelika Borys was reported to have been probably released from house arrest: she was handed a document ending the case "due to the lack of corpus delicti". She was also promised all things seized during the investigation would be returned to her.
