Andrei Zhuk is the owner of the Minsk-based Banki-Butylki bar. He was detained after the singer Meryem Heraminenka performed a song in support of Ukraine in the bar on August 3. The next day after the concert, the sanitary station and Emergency Ministry officials came to inspect the bar. On the same day, Andrei Zhuk and his wife Maryia Zhuk were detained.

Andrei Zhuk is charged under Art. 342 of the Criminal Code ('Active participation in group actions that grossly violate public order').
