Andrei Taranovich was sentenced by the Hancavičy District Court of the Brest region to 1 year of restricted freedom in an open penitentiary under Art. 370 of the Criminal Code for desecrating a state symbol (tearing a flag).

He started serving his sentence on July 10, 2021.

According to the information available to human rights defenders, Andrei should have been released in July 2022.
