Andrei Shauchuk was convicted under Article 342 ('Active participation in group actions grossly disrupting public order') and Article 364 ('Violence against a police officer') of the Criminal Code.
The charges stemmed from his involvement in the protests in Žlobin (Homieĺ region) on the post-election night of August 9, 2020.
On March 22, 2021, the Žlobin District Court sentenced Shauchuk to two years and six months of imprisonment in a general-security penal colony.
On May 27, 2023, the political prisoner was released from penal colony #3 in Vićba (Viciebsk region), having served his full sentence.
