Andrei Matuzau was accused of leaving an insulting comment on the Internet against a police officer.

On January 3, 2023, he was convicted in Leninski District Court of Mahiliou under Article 369 of the Criminal Code (insulting a government official). Judge Natallia Panasenka sentenced Andrei to one year and six months of restricted freedom in an open penal facility (khimiya).

Moreover, the policeman claimed for financial compensation for moral harm in the amount of 3000 Belarusian rubles. The court partially satisfied the claims and set its amount at 1500 Belarusian rubles.

      Andrei was included in the list of citizens of Belarus, foreign citizens and stateless persons involved in extremist activities.

Andrei is serving his sentence in open correctional facility No. 55.
