Andrei Krasnik

Andrei Krasnik, a 55-year-old emergency room therapist at the City Hospital of Lida (Hrodna region), was detained for comments and likes that he posted on social networks back in 2020. However, he was later charged under four articles of the Criminal Code:

  • Part 2 Art. 366 ('Violence or threat against an official performing official duties, or another person performing a public duty')
  • Part 1 Art. 342 ('Organization and preparation of actions that grossly violate public order, or active participation in them')
  • Part 1 Art. 368 ('Insulting the President of the Republic of Belarus')
  • Art. 369 ('Insulting a government official')

On December 20, 2022, the Lida District Court passed the verdict. The court found Krasnik guilty and sentenced him to three years and six months of imprisonment in a high-security penal colony. The case was considered by the judge Aliaksandr Mishurau.
