Andrei Izotau is an entrepreneur based in Minsk. He was sentenced to 24 months of restricted freedom in an open-type penal facility under Art. 369 of the Criminal Code ('Insult to a government official').

Izotau was detained on April 23, 2021, when he was flying to Moscow. At the trial, Izotau said that he had had no intention of fleeing the country. However, the investigation decided otherwise and detained him pending trial.

Izotau was accused of insulting an OMON commander, Ensign Kavalchuk, in the Telegram chat titled Executioners of Belarus.

Izotau served his sentence from September 17, 2021.

He was released on January 25, 2023. He served his term in full.
