Statement on the status of a political prisoner
Andrei Ihnatovich was convicted on October 24, 2023. Judge Dzmitryi Kazlou sentenced Andrei to two years of imprisonment in a general-security penal colony.
He faced charges of incitement to hatred (Part 1 of Article 130 of the Criminal Code) and preparation of actions that grossly violate public order, or active participation in them (Part 1 of Article 342 of the Criminal Code). The court did not find sufficient evidence, resulting in the dismissal of the charge for insulting Aliaksandr Lukashenka (Part 1 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code).
On November 17, 2023, Ihnatovich was included in the list of Belarusian citizens, foreign citizens and stateless persons involved in extremist activities.
On November 27, 2023 the KGB of Belarus put Ihnatovich on the list of "terrorists".
He was pardoned and released on September 16, 2024.
