Aliaksei Zabiran was arrested in Hrodna on November 4, 2021 and taken into custody on charges of insulting a government official under Art. 369 of the Criminal Code.
On June 23, 2022, the Hrodna Regional Court of found Aliaksei guilty and sentenced him to three years of imprisonment in a general-security penal colony. He was also ordered to pay 1,000 rubles to the victim and a fine of 1,600 rubles.
