Aliaksei Horbach was arrested in Svietlahorsk, Homieĺ region, for publishing comments on the Internet in connection with the deaths of IT worker Andrei Zeltser and KGB agent Dzmitry Fedasiuk.
On November 25, 2022, the Homieĺ Regional Court convicted Horbach of “insulting a public officer” (Article 369) and “inciting social hatred” (Article 130 of the Criminal Code) and sentenced him to two years and six months of imprisonment in a general-security penal colony.
On February 14, 2023, the appeal against the verdict was to be reviewed.
In mid-March 2023, the political prisoner was transferred from remand prison #3 in Homieĺ to penal colony #5 in Ivacevičy, Brest region.
On July 22, 2023, the political prisoner was released having served his full sentence.
