Aliaksei Duzhy is a highly qualified plastic surgeon with more than 10 years of experience. He is a member of the Belarusian Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery.
On February 14, 2023, he was arrested at his workplace, and he was not released after several days of administrative arrest. It is known that a criminal case was opened against him under Article 342 of the Criminal Code (Active participation in group actions grossly disrupting public order). At the end of 2022, his house was searched.
Aliaksei Duzhy was placed in the detention center on Akrescina Street. Presumably, he was later released on bail.
His trial began on April 20, 2023, in the Saviecki District Court of Minsk. On April 28, Judge Aliaksandr Yakunchykhin sentenced Aliaksei Duzhy to 24 months of restricted freedom in an open-type penal colony for participating in protest actions in 2020.
