Aliaksandr Stankevich was detained in Minsk for publishing comments on the Internet in connection with the deaths of IT worker Andrei Zeltser and KGB agent Dzmitry Fedasiuk.

Stankevich was charged under Article 369 of the Criminal Code (‘insulting a government official’) and Article 130 of the Criminal Code (‘inciting social hatred’).

The trial started on September 19, 2022, in the Minsk Municipal Court. On October 14, 2022, Judge Vera Halaukova sentenced Stankevich to 19 months of imprisonment.

The political prisoner served his sentence in full and was released on October 31, 2022.
