Aliaksandr Ihnatovich is from Minsk. On August 10, 2021, the Lieninski District Court of Mahilioŭ sentenced him to two years and six months of restricted freedom in an open-type penal facility under Article 369 of the Criminal Code (Contempt of a public official) for insulting a prosecutor and a police officer in online comments.

In late April 2022, for violations of internal regulations, the custody level was changed to one year and one day of imprisonment in a general-security penal colony.

The political prisoner served his full sentence and was released on April 19, 2023.
