Aliaksandr Dashchynski is a reporter working with RFE/RL's Belarus service.
He earlier for the German State Radio Service. He is fluent in German, an expert on Germany, political contacts and relations with Belarus.
Dashchynski was deprived of accreditation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in August 2020, along with journalists from most foreign media outlets.
Dashchynski was detained on July 16, 2021 during mass searches of independent journalists in Minsk and other Belarusian cities. He was placed in a temporary detention center and was not released after 72 hours.
The journalist was released on July 23.
