Aliaksandr Bahdanau is a DJ and art manager based in Minsk, also known as Papa Bo.
Bahdanau was detained on September 2, 2021, after a police raid on the Korpus art space. After 10 days of administrative imprisonment, he was not released but was arrested as part of a criminal case under Art. 342 of the Criminal Code (group actions grossly violating public order). The charge stems from his involvement in the August 2020 protests.
On December 17, Maryna Klimchuk sentenced Aliaksandr Bahdanau to 3 years of restricted freedom in an open penitentiary under Part 1 of Art. 342 of the Criminal Code (Organization and preparation of actions that grossly violate public order or active participation in them).
At the beginning of February Aliaksandr and Maksim Kruk have left Belarus.
