At first, they kept her in harsh conditions in the local detention facility. It was cold in the cell, she had to sleep on bare wooden bunks and was not even allowed to cover herself with her clothes. Due to this, her chronic kidney and gynecological diseases worsened. On the evening of March 30, 2023, Alina Horava fell ill, so an ambulance was called for her. The law enforcers did not allow the detainee to be hospitalized, as she was to be transferred to a remand prison with a day hospital.
However, in remand prison #4 in Mahilioŭ, Alina Horava was refused medical care, despite even her bad tests. The prison doctor refused to treat her with antibiotics and hospitalize her.
Horava was charged under Article 342 of the Criminal Code (Organization and preparation of actions grossly disrupting public order or active participation in them).
The trial of the political prisoner began on May 27, 2023, in the Kruhlaje District Court.
On May 30, 2023, Judge Dzmitryi Sasnouski sentenced the political prisoner to 12 months of freedom restriction under home confinement.
