Aliaksandr Vasilevich is a businessman, co-founder of the online media outlets kyky.org and The Village-Belarus, owner of the agency Vondel / Hepta and the event space Gallery Ў.
He was detained on August 28 by representatives of the Financial Investigations Department of the State Control Committee. His apartment, office and the companies he ran were searched.
On September 4, Vasilevich was charged. Due to the lawyer's subscription not to disclose the materials of the investigation, it is currently unknown under which article of the Criminal Code he is charged. Vasilevich's wife Nadzeya Zeliankova is also a suspect in the criminal case.
Vasilevich is held in pre-trial detention center No. 1 in Minsk.
