Alesia Liantsevich was arrested on May 25, 2023. Alesya is a crisis psychologist, a counselor and therapist for relationship and personal development problems, and a psychology teacher. She was charged with insulting a government official (Article 369 of the Criminal Code), insulting Aliaksandr Lukashenka (Part 1 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code) and financing the activities of an extremist group (Article 361-2 of the Criminal Code).
Alesia is suspected of having a serious illness that cannot be diagnosed or treated in prison. The risks to her life are therefore greatly increased.
However, on September 26, 2023, the Brest Regional Court decided to punish Liantsevich with imprisonment for three years and six months in a general-security penal colony. The case was considered by the judge Ruslana Sianko. Maryia Bialt was the prosecutor.
