Alena Barysiuk has already been convicted three times on political charges. She will spend 2 years and 6 months in a penal colony.
The first sentence was pronounced by the Ivatsevichy District Court on March 10, 2023. Then she was convicted under Article 369 (insulting a government official) of the Criminal Code. Judge Vasil Aurusevich sentenced Alena to one year and six months' deprivation of liberty, without being sent to an open correctional facility, and to a fine of 3,700 rubles.
On March 24, 2023, she was added to the list of Belarusian citizens, foreign citizens and stateless persons involved in extremist activities.
On April 25, 2024, a new criminal case under Article 369 of the Criminal Code (insulting a government official), Part 1 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code (insulting Lukashenka) was considered against Alena in the Pershamaiski District Court of Minsk. The judge was Anastasiya Liaikouskaya.
On October 21, 2024, she was convicted in the Minsk City Court under Part 1 of Article 130 (incitement to other social hatred) of the Criminal Code. Judge Mikhail Makarevich sentenced Alena to two years and six months in a general security penal colony. The prosecution was represented by senior prosecutor Dzmitry Khavalka.
