Oleg Paitash was sentenced to 18 months of restricted freedom in an open penitentiary for participating in a protest rally in Žlobin in August 2020. He was found guilty of group actions grossly violating public order (Article 342 of the Criminal Code).
He has been serving his sentence since the end of February 2022.
Human rights activists found out that Oleg Paitash got a disability of the third group. In this regard, on May 25, 2022, the court of Kamianiec district court replaced freedom restriction in an open-type penitentiary with a milder punishment, namely home confinement. It is known that the trial was postponed three times.
