Aleh Dzehtsiarenka faced charges of participating in an extremist formation (Part 3 of Article 361-1 of the Criminal Code) and financing terrorist activities (Part 2 of Article 290-1 of the Criminal Code). The details of the charges are still unknown to human rights activists.
The trial, which started on February 9, resulted in a guilty verdict on March 7, 2024. The defendant was sentenced to eight years and six months in a medium-security penal colony and fined 100 basic units. The case was heard by Judge Aleh Kharoshka in a closed court session.
