Chairman of Minsk organization of the United Civil Party Aksana Aliakseyeva was detained along with other leaders of the party on July 27, 2022. It is known that during the search the law enforcers broke the door to her apartment. Aksana has a medical condition and needs to take medicines constantly.

On November 3, 2022, the Pieršamajski District Court of Minsk has finished considering the criminal case against the opposition United Civic Party leaders: Aksana Aliakseyeva, Mikalai Kazlou, and Antanina Kavaliova. Aliakseyeva was sentenced to 18 months of imprisonment.

Aksana served out her sentence and was released from prison on October 21, 2023.

 

United Civic Party leaders sentenced to up to 30 months in jail

The Pieršamajski District Court of Minsk has finished considering the criminal case against the opposition United Civic Party leaders: Aksana Aliakseyeva, Mikalai Kazlou, and Antanina Kavaliova. Political prisoners received 12 to 30 months in jail for participating in the 2020 protests.
