Yahor Kanetski

Yahor Kanetski is a student of the Faculty of Biology of the Belarusian State University, a member of the Belarusian Students' Association, activist of the Free Trade Union. He was detained on November 12 as part of a criminal case under Art. 342 part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus (organization or participation in group actions that gravely breach public order). Yahor was initially held in the KGB pre-trial prison.

On July 16, 2021, Kanetski was sentenced to two years and six months in prison.

The political prisoner served his sentence in full and was released on November 30, 2022.
