Viachaslau Biahanski was detained on March 22 for allegedly disobeying law enforcers. He served 15 days of administrative arrest, after which he was charged under Part 1 of Article 130 of the Criminal Code of Belarus ('Inciting racial, national, religious or other social hatred and enmity').

On September 26, 2022, the Minsk Regional Court began hearing his case. On September 28, 2022, the judge Viktoryia Paliashchuk sentenced Biahanski to two years of imprisonment in a penal colony.

On December 1, 2023, he was released from prison.
