Valery Loza is a resident of Svietlahorsk convicted under Art. 369 of the Criminal Code (insulting a government official).
According to the case file, on August 26, 2020, Valery Loza made several insulting comments on the Odnoklassniki social network. A post with a picture of Major Andrei Bahraionak, a traffic police officer of the Svietlahorsk District Executive Committee's department of internal affairs, was posted in a local community. Loza commented on this post using obscene language. The man admitted his guilt.
On January 22, 2021, the Svietlahorsk District Court sentenced Loza to 2 1/2 years in an open correctional facility. On April 1, Loza was sent to serve his sentence at penitentiary No. 29 in Vaŭkavysk.
On September 16, 2021, the convict was pardoned and released.
