Tatsiana Zayats was arrested in a criminal case under Part 2 of Art. 191 of the Criminal Code (Obstruction of the exercise of electoral rights, the right to participate in a referendum). The case was brought for distributing and mailing leaflets with an appeal to count votes honestly.

On September 13, 2022, the Zavodzki District Court of Minsk started hearing the case of a political prisoner. On September 23, Zayats was sentenced to 24 months of imprisonment in a general-security penal colony.

Tatsiana was released from jail on September 15, 2023.
