Siarhei Bankou was sentenced to three years of restricted freedom in an open correctional institution (“khimiya”) under Art. 369 of the Criminal Code for insulting an official.

Bankou allegedly insulted a police officer by posting a comment on the Odnoklassniki social media site.

The convict was sent to serve his sentence on July 7, 2021.

Bankou served out his sentence and was released from prison in the autumn of 2023.
