Mikalai Belaziorau was sentenced to 1 year and six months of restricted freedom in an open-type penitentiary for 'insulting a government official' on the Internet, under Article 369 of the Criminal Code.

He was included in the 'List of Belarusian citizens, foreign citizens, and stateless persons involved in extremist activities'.
On May 2, 2023, the political prisoner was released from open-type penal colony #55 in Minsk, having served his full sentence.
