Statement on the status of a political prisoner
Leanid Tserabei and his wife Antanina were arrested in June 2024.
They are charged under five articles of the Criminal Code for insulting Lukashenka (Article 368 of the Criminal Code), participating in a peaceful assembly (Article 342 of the Criminal Code), inciting social hatred (Article 130 of the Criminal Code), slandering Lukashenka (Article 367 of the Criminal Code), and desecration of state symbols (Article 370 of the Criminal Code). The case was considered by Judge Mikalai Rachynski.
Antanina was sentenced to two years of restricted freedom under home confinement ("domashnyaya khimiya") under Part 1 of Article 342 of the Criminal Code. Leanid was sentenced to three years' imprisonment in a general-security penal colony.
