Yauhen Bantsevich was sentenced to 24 months of restricted freedom in an open penitentiary under Article 368 of the Criminal Code (Insulting the President).

On November 4, 2021, he started to serve his sentence.

According to human rights defenders, Bantsevich was scheduled to be released in the autumn of 2023.
