Ihar Ukhaliuk was sentenced to 2 years of restricted freedom in an open penitentiary (“khimiya”) under Part 1 of Art. 367 of the Criminal Code for libel against the president.

The convict was sent to serve the sentence in late August 2021.

According to human rights defenders, Ihar was supposed to be released in September 2023.
