Ihar Shukanau is an employee of the Information and Communication Laboratory of the Mozyr Oil Refinery.
On August 1, 2024, he was brutally arrested at his workplace. The oil refinery worker was taken out of the factory and beaten. Afterwards, a video of him was released on pro-government channels. It showed a huge hematoma and a split skin over his right eyebrow.
The man was charged under Article 19.11 of the Code of Administrative Offenses.
Then a criminal case was filed against Ihar for slandering Lukashenka (Article 367 of the Criminal Code) and for participating in a peaceful assembly (Article 342 of the Criminal Code). On February 26, 2025, Judge Anatol Strelchanka began to consider his case in the Mozyr District Court.
