Ihar Kisliak is one of five former law enforcement officers who were arrested after recording an appeal against violence in 2020.
On August 12, 2020, former law enforcement officers from Zhodzina Dzmitry Udovin, Andrei Daroshka, Viachaslau Ilyich, Ihar Kisliak, and Vital Paprotski recorded a strong appeal to law enforcement officers - they condemned violence against Belarusians and asked their colleagues not to be punishers. Later the men were arrested, and on January 13, 2025 their case began to be considered in the Minsk Regional Court.
All the former law enforcement officers are being tried under two articles - "damaging the national security of Belarus" (Part 3 of Article 361 of the Criminal Code) and "inciting hatred" (Part 3 of Article 130 of the Criminal Code). They face up to 12 years in prison. Judge Siarhei Vasileuski is presiding over the case.
