Dzmitry Yankouski is a resident of Žodzina who witnessed an incident last September when a policeman hit a woman in the face so hard that she fell. Dzmitry stood up for the woman and faced criminal charged for allegedly using violence against the police officer (Article 364 of the Criminal Code).

As a result, Yankouski was sentenced to 1 year in a general-security penal colony. The officer was not prosecuted.

During the trial, Dzmitry said that he only touched the police officer, which caused no injuries.

Dzmitry fully served his sentence and was released on December 23, 2021.
