Barys Liashkevich is a resident of Hrodna detained on June 9, 2021 as part of a criminal case of "group actions grossly violating public order" (Article 342 of the Criminal Code).

Liashkevich was first detained in September 2020 in a criminal case linked to the post-election protests. However, he was later released but remained under travel restrictions. A trial was scheduled for February, but the case was suddenly closed. In the spring of 2021, it was unexpectedly reopened. On May 13, 2021, Barys's mother's house was searched. On June 9, Liashkevich was summoned for questioning and placed in a remand prison in Hrodna.

On September 17, 2021, the Lieninski District Court of Hrodna sentenced Liashkevich to two years of restricted freedom in an open penitentiary ("khimiya"). The convict was released to wait for an appeal hearing.
