Vasil Trotski is 47 years old. He is from Dubroŭna, Viciebsk region. He has a vocational education of a gas-electric welder. Since 2015, he has been living in Russia and workig in the field of landscaping in Moscow.
Trotski was first detained from November 9 to 10, 2021. On November 14, 2022, he was detained again and placed in custody. He was accused of insulting several public officials.
On January 19, 2023, in the Pieršamajski District Court of Viciebsk, he was convicted under Art. 391 ('Insulting a judge or people's assessor') and Art. 369 ('Insulting a government official') of the Criminal Code. Judge Andrei Andrushenka sentenced Trotski to 14 months of imprisonment in a general regime penal colony and a fine of BYN 1.110 (approx. USD 393). Prosecutor assistant Yaroshnikava represented the state prosecution.
As part of the civil action, a compensation for moral damage in the amount of BYN 500 (approx. USD 177) was imposed on Vasil Trotski in favor of Mikhail Fatseyeu, a police inspector from Dubroŭna.
