Siarhei Bushyk was detained for publishing comments on the Internet in connection with the deaths of the IT worker Andrei Zeltser and KGB agent Dzmitry Fedasiuk in Zeltser's flat in Minsk.

In early December 2022, Bushyk was transferred from Žodzina to remand prison #1 in Minsk.

On December 7, 2022, the case was considered in the Minsk City Court. The judge Sviatlana Charapanava found Bushyk guilty under Part 1 of Art. 130  ('Incitement of other hatred or enmity') and Art. 369 ('Insulting a government official')  of the Criminal Code and sentenced him to two years of imprisonment in a general regime penal colony.
